Pogoń Szczecin has disappointed again, this time losing to Korona Kielce 0:1. In the Ekstraklasa table, they are only 9th. According to our information, Robert Kolendowicz will soon lose his job. We know what the next step for the club's management will be. We also reveal how much the most expensive players brought in by Pogoń in the summer could have cost. Pogoń has won only 10 points in eight games this season. This puts them in 9th place in Ekstraklasa. Additionally, there are no postponed matches, and four teams that have overtaken them have played fewer games. If the table were arranged according to the average points per game, Pogoń would be only 11th. On Saturday, they disappointed again, this time losing to Korona Kielce 0:1. From the start of the season, coach Robert Kolendowicz's position has not been strong. He improved it with earlier wins over Widzew and Raków, but now it has worsened again. According to our information, the coach will be sacked. This may happen in the next few days, but there is a good chance that he will stay at least until next week. Pogoń Szczecin is looking for a foreign coach. The chances of a Pole becoming the new coach of Pogoń are slim. This would fit into the concept of the new owner of Pogoń, Alex Haditaghi. In the summer, eight players arrived, but only one Pole — Jan Biegański. Kolendowicz still has a chance to save his job, but it's small. — Maybe if they win the next game, something will change. In my opinion, however, he is finished — says our informant. On Sunday, Pogoń will play Lechia Gdańsk, and this could be a game of everything for the coach, although it's possible that the verdict on him has already been passed and even a win won't save him. Kolendowicz has been associated with Pogoń for 15 years with a short break. He played there from 2010 to 2013 and has been working at the club in a different role since 2015. Initially as the academy coordinator, and until 2018, he was an assistant to the first coaches — first Kosta Runjaic, and then Jens Gustafsson. When in August 2024, the Swede accepted an offer from Saudi Al Fateh, Kolendowicz replaced him and did quite well. He was able to assemble the team despite the difficult situation related to the change of owner and payment delays. Pogoń fought for promotion to European cups on two fronts, reached the final of the Polish Cup, and was in the lead of Ekstraklasa. However, at the finish, they failed again, losing in the final of the national cup for the second year in a row, and finishing fourth in Ekstraklasa, the same as in the previous two years, and again failed to qualify for European competition. In March, the club was finally taken over by new owner Alex Haditaghi. In the summer, there were many changes in the club. Above all, the team was significantly weakened by the departure of top scorer Efthymis Koulouris, who to some extent forced a transfer to the Saudi second-league newcomer Al-Ula. The club also said goodbye to 10 other players.
